Vivi 3.12.0 brings all major features introduced in the 3.11.x preview releases into general availability (GA), along with feature enhancements, platform improvements, and bug fixes.
What's New
- New Vivi Whiteboard:
- Rebuilt the existing whiteboard ground-up, delivering significantly lower input-to-display latency and a smoother inking experience on 200 series devices.
- It’s an opt-in feature which can be enabled for the organization.
- Vivi Interactive:
- Added one touch launch of Whiteboard and Annotations from an IFP, enabling schools to extend the useful life of aging Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs) by running Vivi directly on the panel. It’s supported only on 200 series devices.
- It’s an opt-in feature which can be enabled per organization, followed by specific room(s).
- Configurable Power Management: Added support for configurable power management profiles that can be added by our support team. These enable RS232-based configuration of power schedules and source switching for supported displays and panels.
- Location-Based Management: Introduced an optional location based management, which provides options to replace global access with group-specific location provisioning and enable automatic location detection for users. Requires Google, LDAP or SAML SSO.
- Universal Windows Client App Installer: Introduced a universal Vivi Client installer for Windows devices, supporting both x64 (Intel and AMD) and ARM-based processors.
- Improved Share Camera resolution to reduce text blurriness.
- Introduced additional configuration for HDMI negotiation with certain displays.
- Resolved the intermittent audio dropout issue.
- Device Alerts (Subscription-based): Device Alerts are now generally available.
- Emergencies can trigger a location aware full-screen alert on staff computers (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and Vivi web app) that persists until acknowledged, providing a critical audit trail for compliance.
- IT Admins can configure all emergency types to send to "Displays," "Devices," or "Both" to ensure maximum visibility.
- This feature is an add-on and requires an active Device Alerts subscription to function.
- Live Captions (Subscription-based): Live Captions is now generally available. Added USB microphone support on the Vivi box, allowing captions to be driven from a room mic connected directly to the receiver.
