tldraw offline v1.16.0
This release makes the app easier to read on large and high-density displays with whole-interface zoom, sends share links to where you were looking, and hardens opening files.
What's New?
Zoom the whole interface
View → Zoom UI In / Zoom UI Out / Reset UI Zoom scales every window, canvas included, the way Cmd + does in a browser.
Share links open where you were looking
Every link you copy from a shared file now carries your current page and viewport, so whoever opens it lands on what you were looking at rather than the file's first page. A guest copying a link points it at where they are looking. Opening a link for a file already on screen brings that window forward and moves it
to the new view. Older links without a view keep working as before.
Improvements
• Drop a .tldraw or .tldr file onto any window, or paste one copied from your file manager, and it opens as a file instead of being refused with "File type is not allowed".
• Right-click a file's title to Copy path, for handing the file's location to a terminal, a chat, or an agent.
• A tldraw-offline://open?path=… link opens a local file after you confirm the exact path in a dialog, so tools that produce files can link straight into the app.
• The app keeps an always-on diagnostic log of crashes, failed saves, script errors, and agent API requests, capped at 25 MB, so a problem can be investigated after the fact. Its path is advertised in server.json, and the agent readme gains a "Debugging the app" section.
• Agents now reach for tldraw native mermaid diagrams
Bug Fixes
• Fix the window's close, minimize, and maximize buttons not responding on Windows and Linux.
• Fix opening a file with unreadable records crashing the editor window. The file is now refused with a dialog naming the problem, and replacing an open file with a damaged one leaves the open file untouched.
• Fix closing a new, empty file asking whether you want to save it.
• Fix the feedback window not fitting the form it shows.
• Fix a malformed message from a script crashing the whole app.
• Fix the tldraw subagent launching with no canvas-server context on Windows
• Fix helpers.translateShapes and helpers.onShapeTranslate moving shapes inside frames and groups along the parent's axes rather than on the page. Both now use page space as documented, and onShapeTranslate ignores reparenting.
• Fix api.getScreenshot failing with a too-long filename for files at deep paths.
