🌈 Record in High Dynamic Range (HDR)
Capture your gameplay or content exactly as it looks on screen — Elgato Studio now supports HDR recording* with richer colors, deeper contrast, and highlights that don't blow out.

🎛️ Recording quality options
You can now choose between higher quality or space-saving recording options.
- Quality: This setting changes the average bit rate during recording
- Format: Choose between different video codecs. H.264 is universally compatible. H.265/HEVC is more space efficient. AV1 is the latest and most advanced codec
Note: HDR recording will use either H.265/HEVC or AV1 and requires a compatible GPU.
🪟 Redesigned sidebar layout
Device and recording settings have been unified in a new sidebar making navigation easier and grouping common settings together.
4K Pro - Improved capture resolutions and ultrawide support
Firmware 250416 and driver 1.1.0.203.5 are now available for 4K Pro. Two formats that were previously downscaled now capture at native resolution: 4K120 (was 1080p, now full 4K120, 8-bit SDR) and 1440p240 (was 720p, now native 1440p240, SDR and HDR). 1080p360 capture has also been added, with SDR and HDR both supported.
Ultrawide is new too. 4K Pro now supports 2560×1080 (up to 240fps), 3440×1440 (up to 200fps native), and 5120×2160 (up to 100fps native). HDR capture is available across these formats at supported framerates.
Also included: a fix for a passthrough output issue affecting certain displays such as LG C2.
Note: To get the new driver, you'll need to switch your Release Channel to Beta in the settings. Otherwise, the driver won't be delivered. Firmware versions only appear once the driver is installed.
4K X - Enable 10Gbits
For users on Mac you can now enable 10Gbps when using 4K X to take full advantage of increased capture resolution, frame rate and video formats.
To show the 10 Gbps settings, hold the command and then click the sidebar view. The next time you open the sidebar you’ll find the setting under the Video tab.

- Resolved an issue where the Stream Deck plugin would not connect to Studio
- Fixed an issue where the HDR tonemapping setting would reset after restarting the app (4K Pro)
- Fixed an issue where setting a custom EDID would revert to a predefined EDID instead (4K Pro)
- Fixed an issue where the preview would scale incorrectly after maximizing the window before plugging in a source
MacOS
- Fixed an issue where a recording would not be saved if the capture device was disconnected during recording
- Fixed an issue where the volume slider could not be adjusted while muted
- Fixed an issue where the file explorer would not open the newly set library folder
- Fixed an issue where the app dark/light theme would update even when "Same as system" was not selected
