BowEcho v0.35.0
BowEcho v0.35.0 delivers native-resolution satellite imagery, much faster
progressive map loading, and the newest Rusty Weather model and data support.
Satellite
- Full Disk imagery now uses retained native-source tiles as you zoom, both
locally and through compatible rw-server satellite services. Map detail is
no longer limited to the compact loop preview.
- Satellite tiles appear progressively and concurrently. The center of the
view arrives first, and the previous georeferenced image remains visible
while a sharper zoom loads instead of disappearing or collapsing into a
rectangle.
- Live and Load latest prioritize the newest complete scan. Older
history loads in the background only when a loop is requested.
- Starting a live follow exposes its retained frames on the radar map
immediately, while the Full Disk action centers and fits the complete disk.
- Already-retained source scans are not downloaded again. Corrected or
republished scans at the same time are detected and refreshed.
- Multi-channel products require matching source scans, preventing adjacent
or incomplete channel times from being combined.
Radar and map performance
- Live Level-II sweeps reveal newly arriving radial chunks smoothly over the
previous completed tilt instead of waiting for an entire sweep.
- Warning-heavy regional maps use bounded fill work and geometry caching;
outlines remain responsive during interaction and fills return when the map
settles.
- Repeated wheel and trackpad zooms cancel obsolete warning, model, and
satellite renders instead of allowing old work to delay the current view.
Models and inspectors
- Hidden model layers are now dormant: they no longer feed stale inspector
values, render invisibly, or keep regional work running in the background.
- Turning Models off cancels outstanding map, lookup-table, and upper-air work.
- Regional model rasters use bounded detail and latest-view-wins cancellation
for more responsive panning and zooming.
AROME-France
- Adds Météo-France AROME-France downloads for the 0.01-degree surface lane
and the 0.025-degree surface and pressure-level lane.
- Both lanes expose eight daily cycles through forecast hour 51, with suitable
default surface and sounding profiles.
- Latest-run availability requires every package needed by the selected
profile and forecast hour, so partially published runs are not shown as
ready.
- Download estimates account for grouped packages and shared static files
without charging the same source object once per forecast hour.
